Google declared the opening of its AI Mode in India, which would enable users to pose lengthier queries and is intended to better manage more complex jobs and exploratory inquiries.
Google said that AI Mode, which is powered by a customized version of Gemini 2.5, will respond to user inquiries that previously needed many searches. AI Mode employs what Google refers to as a query fan-out strategy, in which the inquiry is broken down into smaller themes and the system, acting on the user’s behalf, sends out several relevant questions at once.
“You can not only access high-quality web content, but also tap into fresh, real-time sources like the Knowledge Graph, info about the real world, and shopping data for billions of products,” said Hema Budaraju, Google Vice President, Product Management, Search.
Users in India may test out the new Google Search function by registering in Labs. AI Mode is integrated into the search experience. The business stated that it will provide online search results when it does not have high confidence in the AI-powered solutions, but cautioned that not all results may be accurate because the AI product is still in its early stages.
Additionally, AI Mode is multimodal, allowing users to ask inquiries by tapping the microphone icon or by using Lens capabilities. Users have the option of asking inquiries by voice, text, or by taking and submitting a picture.
“AI Mode is our most powerful AI search, with more advanced reasoning and multimodality, and the ability to go deeper through follow-up questions and helpful links to the web. Using a custom version of Gemini 2.5, it lets you ask longer, more complex or nuanced questions that would have previously required multiple searches,” said Google in its blog post.
