Google launches Gemini Enterprise to power AI-driven workplace automation

Google has introduced Gemini Enterprise, a new AI-powered platform designed to streamline workplace automation. Positioned as a “single front door for AI in the workplace,” this all-in-one chat interface is powered by Google’s most advanced Gemini models, including Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (nano banana), along with Imagen and Veo generative AI tools.

The platform features a taskforce of ready-made AI agents built for specialised research tasks and includes a no-code workbench that allows businesses to automate workflows across departments. Gemini Enterprise is also compatible with popular productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint, as well as business software from Salesforce and SAP. This integration enables the platform to access user-specific context, ensuring that AI responses are accurate and relevant.

To ensure security and data privacy, Gemini Enterprise includes Model Armor protections and granular access controls, limiting AI agents to only use authorised data and actions.

“By bringing all of these components together through a single interface, Gemini Enterprise transforms how teams work. It moves beyond simple tasks to automate entire workflows and drive smarter business outcomes — all on Google’s secure, enterprise-grade architecture,” the company said in a press release issued on Thursday, October 9.

The launch comes as other major tech companies accelerate their enterprise AI offerings. However, a recent industry survey of large companies revealed that most AI initiatives still remain at the pilot stage, often due to poor integration. In another study, it was found that 95 per cent of companies investing up to $40 billion in generative AI saw minimal returns.

Google aims to change that with Gemini Enterprise, targeting use cases across marketing, sales, engineering, human resources, and finance. The platform offers Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus plans starting at $30 per seat per month, while the Gemini Business plan is priced at $21 per seat per month. Though available in India, pricing for the region has not yet been announced. The platform supports several Indian languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Google also announced new multi-modal AI agents for Workspace apps. These include tools for creating videos from content, real-time speech translation in Google Meet, a research preview of a data science agent, and AI tools for customer engagement and support across multiple platforms.

In addition, Google introduced Google Skills, a free platform to train users on AI tools, and Delta, a new team of AI engineers to support enterprise adoption.
