Google has announced the launch of AI Plus, a new mid-tier subscription aimed at delivering advanced AI features at a more accessible price. Positioned between the free plan and the premium AI Pro tier, AI Plus is designed to widen access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, AI-powered productivity tools, and cloud storage while remaining more affordable than the higher-end options.
Features and Access
AI Plus subscribers gain expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro. While free users are restricted to five prompts per day, AI Pro allows 100 and AI Ultra 500. Google has not yet confirmed the exact usage cap for AI Plus.
The subscription also enhances the Gemini app’s context window to 128,000 tokens, compared with 32,000 tokens for free users. Higher subscription tiers continue to provide up to one million tokens.
Additional benefits for AI Plus users include:
- Veo 3 Fast for faster video creation
- Google Flow, a video-generation tool
- Whisk, an image-to-video converter
- Gemini side panel integration in Gmail, Google Docs, and Sheets
- Expanded access to NotebookLM
- 200GB of Google One cloud storage
Pricing and Availability
AI Plus is debuting in Indonesia at Rp. 75,000 per month, which is approximately 4.56 US dollars. For comparison, the AI Pro plan in Indonesia is priced at Rp. 309,000, or about 18.79 US dollars.
Google has not yet confirmed a global rollout timeline. However, the company indicated that if AI Plus becomes available in other markets, the subscription will be priced under 20 US dollars per month, with regional variations expected.
