Google has begun testing a redesigned version of Google Finance, introducing AI-powered research features, advanced charting capabilities, and a live news feed. The company says the overhaul is aimed at helping users make smarter financial decisions.
The update, which will roll out in the coming weeks in the United States, will allow users to switch between the classic and new design. “We’re reimagining Google Finance with AI at its core,” said Barine Tee, Principal Engineer at Google Search. “Now you can ask complex financial questions and get comprehensive, contextual answers—plus visual tools to help you explore the data.”
With the new AI features, users can:
-
Ask in-depth questions about stocks, markets, and trends
-
Receive AI-generated answers with links to relevant sources
-
Avoid manual searches for individual stock details by accessing complete analysis in one place
Google is also enhancing its charting tools, offering:
-
Technical indicators such as moving average envelopes
-
Customisable views including candlestick charts
-
Broader market data coverage, including commodities and cryptocurrencies
A new live news feed will deliver real-time headlines, enabling users to track market changes as they happen.
By adding these features, Google aims to compete more directly with established financial platforms and reduce user reliance on third-party AI chatbots for market research.
