Google backs kids content startup Animaj with $1 million AI investment

Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping the future of digital content, especially in the entertainment space for younger audiences. In a recent move, Google has invested $1 million in Animaj, a company that creates AI-powered videos for kids.

The investment was announced on March 6, 2026, as part of Google’s AI Futures Fund. Through this deal, Animaj will gain early access to Veo video models before their public release. The company will also receive special insights from Google DeepMind, helping it strengthen its AI-driven content creation.

Animaj focuses on transforming well-known children’s characters into global digital entertainment. One example is Pocoyo, which the company helps turn into widely distributed online content.

To speed up animation production, Animaj uses advanced AI tools. One of its technologies, Sketch-to-Pose, reduces animation time significantly, cutting the process from 14 hours to just 6 hours. Another tool, Motion-to-Motion Transfer, helps the company quickly produce fresh content for platforms such as YouTube.

The company already has a strong global presence in children’s digital entertainment. Animaj’s content has reached 22 billion views on YouTube and attracts 242 million unique monthly viewers.

Animaj has also secured significant funding in the past. The company previously raised €100 million from Left Lane Capital and $85 million from HarbourView Equity Partners.

With this new investment and early access to advanced AI video technology, Animaj aims to expand its ability to create and distribute children’s content at scale across global platforms.
