Google’s Apps programme aims to empower 20 AI-powered Indian startups with advanced tools and mentorship

With the goal of boosting 20 talented Indian entrepreneurs that specialize in AI-powered mobile apps, Google has unveiled the second iteration of its Google for entrepreneurs Accelerator: Apps program. The program, which is sponsored by Google Play, aims to provide app-based businesses access to state-of-the-art AI technologies, professional mentoring, and customized advice so they can successfully grow their products.

“The startup ecosystem in India has always been a source of huge motivation and excitement for us at Google Play and we’re looking forward to accelerating the next class of AI powered app based startups in India. The program enables startups with an AI, business and a commercial toolkit which they can use to deploy at scale and hopefully grow as they go along,” said Paula Wang, managing director, APAC partnerships, Google Play.

The three-month initiative is available to Indian entrepreneurs with published apps on the Google Play Store and funding between the Seed and Series-A stages. Selected firms will have access to Google’s most recent AI developments, individualized mentorship sessions, and possibilities for collaborative learning. Additionally, the application provides customized analytics to improve user engagement and optimize app performance.

Google emphasized the success of the first cohort, which witnessed notable advancements in design, technology, and user interaction. Given its critical role in influencing the direction of app development, the second cohort will place a strong emphasis on integrating AI. The program is scheduled to start in July with an immersive bootcamp, and applications are accepted until May 15, 2025.
