Google adds Bluetooth diagnostics feature to Pixel phones for easier troubleshooting

Google is rolling out a new Bluetooth diagnostics feature for Pixel smartphones, aimed at helping users quickly identify and resolve connectivity issues.

The feature, spotted in the latest update of the Pixel Troubleshooting app, is now making its way to the Pixel 10 and older Pixel devices. It allows users to check the health of their Bluetooth connections and detect possible issues with paired devices.

Accessible through the Settings app, the tool provides a simple overview of connected Bluetooth devices and highlights potential problems affecting connectivity. While it does not offer deep manual controls, it helps users understand whether an issue can be fixed on their own or requires further support.

This addition brings Pixel devices in line with similar diagnostic tools already available on other platforms. Samsung offers a comparable feature through its Members app for Galaxy devices, while Apple provides a diagnostics mode for iPhones.

To use the feature, users can navigate to Settings > Connected Devices > Bluetooth and select “Bluetooth diagnostics.” Alternatively, it can be accessed via Settings > Device health and support > Bluetooth diagnostics.

Once selected, the tool scans connected devices and suggests fixes for common issues. If a device is not detected, users can choose the “Can’t find your device?” option to explore additional troubleshooting steps.

The diagnostics tool also allows users to manually select non-Pixel devices if needed. While Pixel accessories such as Pixel Watch 4 or Pixel Buds 2a are prioritised, other devices can still be tested.

In addition to Bluetooth diagnostics, Pixel devices also offer tools for checking touch responsiveness, charging performance, and overall device health through the same menu. These features have been available for some time but are now complemented by the new Bluetooth-focused capability.

The update highlights Google’s ongoing effort to improve user experience by offering built-in tools that simplify device maintenance and troubleshooting.
