In a pivotal moment for its leadership landscape, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has officially named Anurag Mantri as its new President and Global Chief Financial Officer, as it prepares to say goodbye to veteran financial leader VS Mani, who steps into early retirement after an impactful eight-year journey with the company.
The transition comes as Mani, Glenmark’s current CFO and Executive Director, announced his decision to retire, with his final day slated for May 26, 2025. In his heartfelt farewell, he shared, “crossing the age of 60” as one of the personal reasons for his departure. He expressed gratitude towards Chairman and MD Glenn Saldanha, the board, and his colleagues for their unwavering support over the years.
Stepping into this crucial role is Anurag Mantri, a seasoned Chartered Accountant with over three decades of experience in the world of finance and corporate strategy. His appointment is currently pending the necessary board and committee approvals. Known for his expertise in IPO management, M&As, global compliance, and enterprise value creation, Mantri brings a deep well of insight to the table.
Before his move to Glenmark, Mantri held the role of Executive Director and Group CFO at Jindal Stainless Limited since 2016. His resignation from that position became effective April 4, 2025, as per a regulatory filing. His professional journey has also seen him contribute meaningfully to organizations such as HCL Technologies, L&T, SRF Limited, Cairn Energy, Schneider Electric, and ACME Solar.
An alumnus of the University of Rajasthan, Mantri’s academic foundation in commerce adds to his already impressive financial acumen. Glenmark has voiced strong confidence in his leadership, noting that Mantri will be instrumental in guiding the company’s financial governance, operational agility, and long-term strategic growth.
As the Glenmark focuses on reinforcing its corporate governance and refining internal efficiencies, this shift signifies a new era of financial stewardship and transformation.
