GIGABYTE begins local manufacturing in India to strengthen market presence

India has taken a step forward in electronics manufacturing as GIGABYTE has officially started local production through a contract manufacturing partnership. The move marks an important phase in the company’s expansion plans and aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative.

The company has begun manufacturing motherboards in the country and plans to gradually expand local production to include monitors and laptops. This approach is aimed at deepening GIGABYTE’s presence in India, improving product availability, and reducing dependence on imports.

“India has always been one of our most important markets,” said Mr. Dandy Yeh, Chairman of GIGABYTE Technology. CEO Mr. Eddie Lin added, “We will continue to uphold our rigorous standards in component and manufacturing to ensure that high-performance, reliable solutions reach Indian consumers through a more efficient and timely supply chain. This Make in India initiative will also open new opportunities across enterprise, government, and public sectors.”

According to the company, local manufacturing will support the creation of a more efficient and sustainable supply chain. It is also expected to enable wider adoption of GIGABYTE products across enterprise, government, and public sector deployments.

By starting production in India, GIGABYTE is positioning itself to respond faster to market demand while supporting the country’s growing role as a manufacturing hub for technology products.
