Smartsheet has announced the expansion of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru as part of its efforts to strengthen enterprise AI initiatives and product development for global customers. The move reflects the growing importance of India’s GCC ecosystem as technology companies increase investments in AI-driven innovation and advanced engineering capabilities.
The US-headquartered enterprise work management platform said the Bengaluru engineering hub will lead advanced software development and support several functions including product management, engineering, UX, IT, security and customer support. The centre is designed to support the development of enterprise-grade, agentic work management tools that help global customers manage AI-led operations more efficiently.
“Our innovation engine is built on customers’ data, AI enablement and agentic delivery of our products, alongside the global expansion of our business. Both of these will be core to the mandate of the global centre here in India, which is where much of this transformation is happening,” said Rajeev Singh, chief executive officer of the company. He added, “We are intentionally building this hub as a multi-functional powerhouse anchored in AI-first operating principles, where talented teams own critical, end-to-end capabilities that meaningfully shape our company and our customers’ experience and success worldwide.”
The company formally opened its India GCC last year and now plans to expand its workforce significantly. More than 200 employees are expected to join the Bengaluru facility in 2026, with most positions focused on technical roles such as data scientists, DevSecOps engineers, product managers and UX designers. Over time, the centre will also hire for additional functions including marketing, sales, talent acquisition and general administration.
