A key leadership move highlights Workday’s continued push toward building an AI-first enterprise platform and strengthening its technology vision. In his new role, Gabe will lead the company’s technology strategy, platform innovation, and AI-driven transformation, supporting its mission to help organisations adapt in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Prior to this, Monroy served as SVP/GM Platform at Workday, where he focused on making the platform more open, extensible, and AI-native, while accelerating innovation across the enterprise ecosystem.
Before joining Workday, he held senior leadership roles at Google, including VP/GM Cloud Runtimes and VP of Developer Experience. During this time, he led initiatives across cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, serverless computing, and AI/ML workloads, driving large-scale product innovation and strengthening developer ecosystems globally.
Earlier, he was Chief Product Officer at DigitalOcean, where he led product management, engineering, and design for customer-facing platforms, driving growth and innovation.
He also spent over 4 years at Microsoft, serving as Vice President of Product Management, where he led Azure developer services, cloud platforms, and serverless technologies.
In addition, Monroy has entrepreneurial experience as CTO of Deis, Inc. and OpDemand, contributing to the development of cloud-native platforms and open-source ecosystems. Earlier in his career, he held technical leadership roles at Intuit Inc..
With deep expertise in cloud computing, developer platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, and enterprise technology, Monroy brings a strong foundation to drive Workday’s next phase of innovation.
