Fujifilm launches X-E5 mirrorless digital camera in India

Fujifilm has launched the X-E5 mirrorless digital camera in India, marking a major milestone for the brand’s X Series lineup. The X-E5 is the first model in the series to feature a five-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) system, offering up to 7 stops of stabilisation at the centre of the frame and 6 stops at the edges.

The camera is equipped with a back-illuminated 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and powered by the X-Processor 5 high-speed image processing engine, designed to deliver superior image quality, enhanced colour tones, and improved detail without compromising on performance.

Price and availability

The Fujifilm X-E5 is priced at Rs. 1,59,999 for the body only. It is available for purchase through Amazon, Flipkart, Fujifilm Authorised Ecom Store, and offline retail outlets across India. The camera is compatible with several Fujifilm accessories, including the Stereo Microphone MIC-ST1, Remote Release RR-100, Shoe Mount Flash EF-X500, and Tripod Grip TG-BT1.

Features and specifications

The X-E5’s X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor delivers high-resolution images with reduced noise and supports a lower native ISO of 125. Its unique colour filter array eliminates false colours without an optical low-pass filter, while the X-Processor 5 ensures fast and efficient image processing.

The camera features AI-powered autofocus with deep-learning technology capable of detecting subjects such as animals, birds, cars, bikes, drones, and insects. It also introduces improved autofocus prediction algorithms for tracking moving subjects with greater accuracy, even in low-contrast situations.

For creators, the X-E5 includes a Classic Display mode that keeps key information at the bottom of the frame for an uncluttered viewfinder experience. The Front Control Lever activates the Surround View function, simulating an optical viewfinder.

The X-E5 supports in-camera recording up to 6.2K at 30fps, 4K at 60fps, and 1080p at 240fps, with a maximum standard sensitivity of ISO 51200 for stills and ISO 25600 for video. It is also the first X Series model to feature a five-axis IBIS system for enhanced stability.

Crafted from machined aluminium with an anodised finish, the X-E5 has a redesigned Film Simulation dial with an indicator window, offering 20 film simulation modes, including Acros, Eterna, Reala Ace, Provia, and Velvia.

The camera is powered by an NP-W126S Li-ion battery, offering up to 45 minutes of 6.2K video recording, 310 frames in normal mode, and 400 frames in economy mode for still photography.
