Zeki Data has identified the top 2,000 innovative research and engineering talent globally and assessed their future innovation potential, including undervalued players overlooked by talent scouts.
Zeki Data, a UK-based alternative data company providing highly accurate R&D talent intelligence, has identified the “players” that will develop the next generation of Frontier AI models.
AI Moneyball , released today, is a free report from Zeki Data on where the best Frontier AI talent is currently located, what makes them stand out, and where to find this new emerging talent.
“We can clearly see who the next Frontier AI talent will be, driving agent AI innovation and the growth of other verticals,” said Tom Hurd , CEO and co-founder of Zeki Data. “Frontier AI’s current pipeline significantly outperforms its competitors, and we know which players companies need to attract to continue their innovation success.”
How does Zeki know?
Zeki Data compared a cohort of the top 2,000 people behind the creation of Frontier’s most powerful AI models outside of China with a cohort of 30,000 with the same areas of AI expertise but who were not selected or did not choose to work on Frontier’s AI models.
Zeki Data monitored and evaluated the progress of the two cohorts over 10 years using a proprietary scoring system based on more than 50 variables. Zeki Data’s variables measure their areas of expertise, innovation track record, professional standing, skills, influence, and reputation among their peers.
The results paint a picture of an increasingly concentrated group of elite AI professionals.
The distinctive behavior of the Frontier AI cohort is described in detail for free in Zeki Data’s AI Moneyball , which includes:
- Main areas of specialization : The cohort’s areas of specialization are concentrated in eight main AI specializations, out of more than 100 categorized by Zeki Data.
- Major Employing Countries : The United States leads, as expected, but European and Asian countries appear on the list along with the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia .
-
Three key talent characteristics : education and professional experience are consistent across Frontier AI’s 2,000-person cohort, but not across the 30,000-person comparison cohort.
AI Moneyball identifies the difference between power hitters, contact hitters, and opposite-field hitters using cutting-edge AI. Zeki Data details which companies are leading or lagging and the impact of data-driven talent decisions.
