Foxconn has announced a ₹15,000 crore investment in Tamil Nadu, along with plans to create 14,000 high-value engineering jobs. This move marks a major step in strengthening the State’s electronics and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Foxconn’s India representative Robert Wu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa, and senior state officials. During the meeting, the company also inaugurated the first-ever Foxconn Desk at Guidance Tamil Nadu, designed to enable faster coordination and facilitate investment-related activities across projects.
Robert Wu emphasised that Foxconn is focusing on value-added manufacturing, integration of research and development, and technology-driven operations in Tamil Nadu. He said the company’s approach is aligned with advanced sectors such as battery technologies and AI-driven manufacturing systems, positioning Tamil Nadu as a global centre for innovation, high-value exports, and engineering excellence.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin welcomed Foxconn’s expansion and assured the company of full support through the State’s Industries Department and the newly established Foxconn Desk. He said the State remains committed to fostering an investor-friendly environment that promotes high-tech manufacturing and job creation.
Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa stated that the initiative will enhance Tamil Nadu’s position as a key innovation and engineering hub. He added that the collaboration would integrate the State more deeply into global value chains and accelerate the next phase of advanced technology-led manufacturing in India.
