iPhone Manufacturer Foxconn Partners with Nvidia on AI Facility in Taiwan

The next-generation AI supercomputer will be built in Taiwan thanks to a significant partnership revealed by Nvidia and Foxconn at Computex 2025. One of the most potent AI systems in Asia, the supercomputer will be run by Foxconn’s subsidiary Big Innovation Company and will have 10,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs. Supported by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council, the initiative will act as a national center for AI infrastructure, providing access to cutting-edge computing for researchers, startups, and businesses. The AI factory will also help Taiwan’s largest semiconductor company, TSMC, by accelerating research and development and cutting down on development timeframes.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang hailed the initiative as a foundation for the “next industrial revolution,” saying, “We are delighted to partner with Foxconn and Taiwan to help build the nation’s AI infrastructure.”

Young Liu, the chairman of Foxconn, emphasized the company’s growing contribution to AI-driven innovation beyond manufacturing. By facilitating more intelligent systems and quicker development cycles, the supercomputer will assist Foxconn’s initiatives in automated manufacturing, smart cities, and electric automobiles.

To be powered by Nvidia Blackwell Ultra systems

With state-of-the-art networking via NVLink and Spectrum-X Ethernet, the AI factory will showcase Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra systems, which include the GB300 NVL72 rack-scale platform. In addition to hardware, the facility will interact with Nvidia DGX Cloud Lepton, providing a variety of users—from deep tech companies to university researchers—with flexible GPU access.

With assistance for healthcare, AI education, and urban planning, this infrastructure is essential to Taiwan’s vision of becoming a “smart AI island.” The government’s dedication to developing a strong AI ecosystem in southern Taiwan was reaffirmed by Minister Wu Cheng-Wen.

Dr. C.C. Wei, CEO of TSMC, described the research as crucial to the company’s objective of using AI to propel semiconductor innovation. Faster computation leads to quicker innovations, which gives TSMC and its partners a competitive advantage.

Taiwan is establishing the foundation for a future characterized by intelligent systems and AI-enabled industries with the help of Nvidia’s technology, Foxconn’s infrastructure, and government support.
