Forza Horizon 6 Confirmed for 2026 with Japan as Its New Setting

Playground Games has officially confirmed that the next chapter of the Forza Horizon series will launch in 2026, with Japan as its setting. The announcement was revealed through a teaser during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show live event, following an earlier reveal on the official Forza Horizon social media account.

While the teaser did not showcase any gameplay, it hinted at an expansive open world where players will be able to explore diverse regions of Japan, including the glowing neon streets and high-rise structures of Tokyo City.

“This has been the most requested location since the very first game, and we can’t wait to share more next year,” said Matt Booty, President of Game Content and Studios at Xbox.

Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled to release in 2026 for Xbox and PC. Although a PlayStation 5 release has not been confirmed, reports indicate that Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games may collaborate to bring the title to Sony’s console after launch.

Earlier this year, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer mentioned that the new Forza instalment was planned for 2026. Alongside the racing title, other major releases such as Gears of War: E-Day, a Halo CE remake, and Playground Games’ Fable are also expected to roll out.

The release will come a year after the arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5, which remains one of the most played titles on the platform and continues to lead Sony’s digital store charts. With its fresh Japanese setting, Forza Horizon 6 aims to take the franchise to its most requested location yet.
