Flutter Brazil has announced the appointment of Alvaro Garcia as its new Chief Marketing Officer, marking a strategic move as the company continues to solidify its presence in the rapidly evolving Brazilian sports betting market.
Garcia brings with him a wealth of experience from leading global consumer brands, most recently serving as Vice President of Marketing and CMO at Mondelez between 2020 and 2024. Prior to this, he spent more than 16 years at multinational beverage giant Diageo, where he rose through the ranks to become Chief Marketing Officer for Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
In his new role, Garcia will take the lead on Flutter Brazil’s marketing strategy during what the company describes as a “pivotal new phase.” Speaking about his appointment, Garcia emphasised his commitment to both business performance and market integrity: “My main responsibility will be to lead the marketing team in this new chapter of the company, generating not only sustainable growth for the business, but also contributing to the maturation of the betting market with responsible marketing and good practices.”
The hire comes at a time of increased regulatory and commercial focus on the Brazilian betting landscape, with Flutter keen to strengthen its brand positioning while supporting broader efforts to promote responsible gambling across the region.
