Figure AI introduces Figure 03 humanoid robot that folds laundry cleans dishes and chats with ease

Figure AI has introduced its third generation humanoid robot, Figure 03, marking a significant step toward practical robotic assistants for homes and workplaces. Standing five feet six inches tall, the new model improves on its predecessor, Figure 02, with sharper vision, better coordination, and a more human-like design.

Powered by Helix, Figure AI’s in-house artificial intelligence, the robot combines vision, language, and movement to learn directly from human actions. Its upgraded cameras process twice as many frames per second, cut visual delay by 25 percent, and widen the field of view by 60 percent. Each hand also has a small palm camera, allowing the robot to grab hidden objects and adjust its grip instantly.

The hands are made softer and more flexible, with fingertip sensors that detect as little as three grams of pressure, about the weight of a paperclip. This gives Figure 03 the precision to handle fragile objects such as glassware or prevent tools from slipping. All sensors are custom-built for this model.

Designed for both home and industrial use, Figure 03 is nine percent lighter and smaller than before, helping it move smoothly in tight spaces. It features washable mesh fabric and foam padding to make it safer around people. Its wireless charging system allows it to recharge simply by stepping on a pad, providing up to five hours of operation per charge.

The audio system has also been upgraded. The new speaker is twice as large and almost four times louder, while the repositioned microphone improves clarity. Users can speak naturally to the robot without distortion.

In workplaces, the new actuators double the speed and torque, enabling human-level pick and place performance. Figure 03 can handle metal parts, soft packaging, or sorting tasks, and businesses can customise each unit with branding or side screens. High-speed connectivity at 10 Gbps allows fleets of robots to share information instantly.

To lower costs and speed up production, Figure AI redesigned its manufacturing process using die casting and injection moulding. Its new BotQ factory can produce 12,000 robots annually, with plans to expand to 100,000 within four years.

The robot has already gained attention for its lifelike movements and was recently highlighted as one of the Best Innovations of 2025 by a leading publication. However, as the report noted, “Figure 03 will not be ready for home use upon its release.”

For now, Figure 03 stands as a symbol of how close humanoid robots are to becoming part of everyday life.
