Figma opens its first India office in Bengaluru as it expands global footprint

Figma has opened its first India office in Bengaluru, marking an important step in its global expansion. The collaborative design platform has also started hiring in the country and introduced new AI powered design tools that aim to change how teams build and create. “Today India is our second largest active user market. As it evolves into a global software and manufacturing hub, the value of design will only grow,” said Scott Pugh, APAC vice president of sales at Figma.

The company stated that all its products are now available in India, including Figma Design, FigJam, Figma Make, Dev Mode, Figma Slides, Figma Draw, and Figma Buzz. Figma shared that more than eighty five percent of its users are located outside the United States, and almost half of its revenue in 2024 came from international markets. The new Bengaluru office becomes part of a global network that includes cities such as New York, Tokyo, Singapore, London and Sydney.

Figma’s recent acquisition of Weavy and the introduction of AI driven design systems integration in Figma Make reflect its growing focus on generative AI. A YouGov study by Figma found that ninety three percent of Indian designers say their companies already use AI in design, and eighty one percent of developers believe design is essential for the success of AI products.

With customers such as Airtel, Swiggy, Myntra and TCS, and more than forty percent of BSE one hundred companies using Figma products, India has become a major growth driver for the company’s future plans.
