FCRF’s flagship cyber law certification nears deadline amid overhaul of India’s data and compliance laws

As India’s legal landscape adapts to a rapidly digital society, the Certified Cyber Law Practitioner (CCLP) program by the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) is equipping professionals to navigate the intersection of law, data, and technology. The four-week certification targets lawyers, investigators, compliance officers, and students seeking practical expertise in cyber law and data protection.

The program spans 16 modules covering the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and India’s new criminal codes—the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Participants gain hands-on training on electronic evidence, privacy, cross-border data flows, platform liability, incident response, and breach reporting. Classes are held live on weekends, with recordings and handouts provided for ongoing learning.

FCRF highlights continuity beyond the classroom. Alumni networks and working groups facilitate knowledge sharing on breach notifications, darknet investigations, and chain-of-custody procedures long after certification.

The timing aligns with India’s implementation of the DPDP framework and a surge in digital disputes ranging from e-contracts and algorithmic decisions to workplace surveillance. CCLP’s design bridges the gap between technical and legal teams, providing a shared language that strengthens investigations, compliance programs, and regulatory understanding.

The program complements FCRF’s wider training portfolio, which includes the Certified Cyber Crisis Management Professional (CCMP)—delivered with CERT-In to 500+ senior officials—and the Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) course, which trained over 500 professionals on DPDP compliance.

FCRF also organizes the FutureCrime Summit, bringing together prosecutors, police, technologists, and policymakers. Its recent MoU with NIELIT, signed in the presence of Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, underscores the growing recognition of cyber capacity-building as national infrastructure.

The intensive four-week schedule is tailored for working professionals, with case-based learning, Q&A sessions, and compliance workshops. For litigators, the program builds evidentiary confidence; for in-house counsels and DPOs, it provides breach response playbooks; for CISOs and GRC leaders, it delivers legal fluency for regulatory interactions.

With demand for cyber law expertise outpacing supply, the CCLP program offers a structured pathway into a high-growth field. Professionals and students interested in India’s premier cyber law certification are urged to enroll before the deadline.
