Cambridge Savings Bank, one of the oldest and largest community banks in Massachusetts, has appointed Erin (Tutela) Toomey as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, she will lead the bank’s people strategy, workforce development, and culture initiatives to further strengthen its mission of delivering exceptional service to customers and communities.
Erin joins Cambridge Savings Bank after more than five years at DentaQuest, where she served as Vice President of Enterprise Talent Services. During her tenure, she provided strategic oversight of enterprise-wide talent functions, focusing on leadership development, workforce planning, and building organisational capability across the healthcare services provider.
Before her time at DentaQuest, Erin spent a decade with State Street in several leadership positions. Most recently, she was Managing Director and Head of North America Employee Relations, where she led strategy and governance for employee relations across the region. She also worked as Vice President and HR Business Partner at State Street, supporting senior leadership on key HR and business transformation initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Erin served as Senior Vice President and Human Resources Manager at Bank of America, overseeing HR for Columbia Management and supporting talent strategy across multiple financial services divisions. She began her professional journey with a decade-long tenure at State Street as Assistant Vice President and HR Business Partner, building expertise in employee engagement, talent management, and organisational development.
With nearly three decades of HR leadership experience, Erin has consistently demonstrated her ability to strengthen workplace culture, enhance employee experience, and align HR strategies with business goals. Her appointment marks an important step in advancing Cambridge Savings Bank’s commitment to its employees, customers, and communities.
