Yadin Antebi, the CEO of Bank Hapoalim, is hiring a management person from outside the bank for the first time. Erez Rachmil will take over as Head of the Technology and Computing Division and Deputy CEO of Bank Hapoalim, the bank stated.
Rachmil, 49, has over 25 years of experience in the technology management industry. He was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the gaming business Playtika in his previous role.
Erez formerly served in a number of high-level managerial roles at Playtika, including Vice President of Information Systems and Senior Vice President of Development. He has previously worked as an entrepreneur and in a variety of technical roles at high-tech firms including HP and Amdocs. He previously worked at HP and Amdocs in a variety of technology-related roles. Eti Ben-Zev, who just announced her retirement, will be replaced by Rachamil.
Many resources and expenses are directed into the technology section of banks in general and Bank Hapoalim in particular. Banks’ infrastructure systems are antiquated, and any improvement or modification is viewed as complicated. To streamline procedures, some banks are working with fintech firms.
Rachmil is anticipated to concentrate his efforts on ways to cut expenses and simplify the division’s operations, as Antabi plans to prioritize increasing the bank’s profitability and efficiency during his tenure.
