Epson Appoints Junkichi Yoshida as New President and CEO

Seiko Epson Corporation, a global leader in technology, has announced the appointment of Junkichi Yoshida as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 1st. Yoshida will succeed Yasunori Ogawa, who will transition to the role of Chairman of the Board. This leadership change comes as Epson approaches the final year of its current corporate strategy; Epson 25 Renewed.

Yoshida brings a wealth of experience in business strategy, product development, and global market expansion. In a statement, he expressed his enthusiasm for the new role and his dedication to driving innovation at Epson.

“I am honored to take on this responsibility and embrace the challenge ahead,” Yoshida said. “Epson’s DNA is rooted in efficient, compact, and precise innovation, and our strength lies in our ability to leverage unique technologies such as our Micro Piezo printheads and advanced vertical manufacturing capabilities. Our goal is to further enhance customer trust in the Epson brand while expanding our business beyond existing boundaries.”

Yoshida also emphasized the importance of sustainable growth and technological excellence. “In today’s competitive landscape, we must go beyond conventional thinking, anticipate customer needs, and deliver solutions that redefine the industry,” he added.

Yasunori Ogawa, who has been leading Epson since 2020, reflected on his leadership journey and the decision to pass the baton to Yoshida. “When I took on this role in 2020, we faced unprecedented global challenges. Yet, through teamwork and a strong commitment to our vision, we emerged stronger,” Ogawa said. “Now, as we approach a pivotal phase in our strategy, I believe it’s time to hand over the leadership to someone who will take Epson to even greater heights.”

Ogawa also commended Yoshida for his exceptional ability to lead innovation and execute global business strategies. As Chairman, Ogawa will continue to support Epson’s governance and long-term objectives.

Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa, also welcomed Yoshida’s appointment. “We are excited to work under Junkichi Yoshida’s leadership,” Bector said. “His forward-thinking approach aligns perfectly with our regional efforts to introduce innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

Epson, known for its legacy of innovation, is now poised to embark on an exciting new chapter with Yoshida at the helm, committed to growth, sustainability, and digital transformation.
