Early benchmark hints at Samsung’s next flagship chip with 10-core CPU

Early benchmark data suggests Samsung is already testing its next-generation flagship mobile processor. A new Geekbench entry points to a chip believed to be the Exynos 2700, showing a major change in CPU design and a new GPU.

The unannounced Samsung processor appeared on Geekbench with the model ID Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Full Android on S5E9975 ERD, scoring 15,618 points in the OpenCL test. The listing reveals a 10-core CPU with a 4+1+4+1 cluster layout. It includes 1 core at 2.30GHz, 4 cores at 2.40GHz, 1 core at 2.78GHz, and 4 cores at 2.88GHz.

This setup is different from the Exynos 2600, which uses a 6+3+1 cluster design. The Exynos 2600 has 1 core at 3.8GHz, 3 cores at 3.25GHz, and 6 cores at 2.75GHz.

The Geekbench data also shows the presence of the Samsung Xclipse 970 GPU. The tested device runs Android 16 and comes with 12GB RAM. It is listed as an ERD (Engineering Reference Device), with the motherboard tagged as s5e9975. The unusual 4-cluster CPU layout and ERD label indicate Samsung is still testing different configurations before finalising the chip.

Samsung introduced the Exynos 2600 in December as the successor to the Exynos 2500. The company has not confirmed which devices will use it, but it is widely expected to power the Galaxy S26 series. The chip is built on Samsung Foundry’s 2nm GAA process and supports LPDDR5x RAM with UFS 4.1 storage. It also features the Samsung Xclipse 960 GPU with 10 cores.

The upcoming Exynos 2700 is expected to be used in future flagship phones such as the Galaxy S27 series. It is also expected to support LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage, marking another step forward in Samsung’s mobile chipset roadmap.
