SAIPA Group has announced the appointment of Dr. Saman Nabovati as Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer. In this key leadership role, Dr. Nabovati will drive the group’s long-term strategic initiatives, oversee project portfolios, and lead innovation-driven business development efforts. His appointment is a significant step in strengthening SAIPA’s position as a major automotive player in Iran and the wider region.
Dr. Nabovati brings over 19 years of experience with SAIPA, having held various strategic and leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Vice Deputy of Strategy and Business Development, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s transformation, aligning strategic objectives, and expanding market reach. He also served for eight years as Director of Strategic Planning and Project Management, where he led enterprise-wide innovation, stakeholder engagement, and strong project governance.
Beyond his core responsibilities at SAIPA, Dr. Nabovati is currently the Chairman of the Board at SAIPA Automotive Research and Innovation Center, a part-time role he took on in July 2025. In this role, he guides research and innovation efforts in automotive design and development. He also served as a Board Member at Saipa Azin from 2020 to 2022, where he contributed to key operational strategies.
Dr. Nabovati also brings valuable experience from the financial sector. He was formerly Director of Strategic Planning at a leading Iranian bank and a Management Consultant at another financial institution, where he focused on strategy design and execution.
With a career spanning both the automotive and banking industries, Dr. Nabovati brings a unique and well-rounded perspective to business development and strategic leadership.
