Divert, Inc. Appoints Brad Lukow as CFO to Drive Nationwide Growth and Sustainability

Divert, Inc., a company committed to reducing food waste through circular economy solutions, has named Brad Lukow as its new Chief Financial Officer. With over three decades of experience in finance and capital markets, Lukow’s expertise is set to guide Divert through its next phase of growth, as the company scales its operations nationwide to tackle food waste.

Ryan Begin, CEO and co-founder of Divert, shared his excitement about Lukow’s appointment: “Brad’s proven leadership in finance, particularly in the retail industry, makes him an ideal fit for Divert as we continue to expand our innovative solutions to better serve our customers and communities nationwide. His expertise will be instrumental as we scale our efforts and advance our mission to create a more sustainable, circular economy.”

Lukow’s appointment comes as Divert makes significant strides in addressing the growing food waste crisis. In 2024, the company processed over 630 million pounds of unsold and non-donatable food, marking a 52% increase year-over-year. The company also expanded its customer locations by 22% and opened its first-ever Integrated Diversion & Energy Facility in Turlock, California. Divert is now poised to expand to 30 facilities across the U.S.

“I’m thrilled to join Divert’s executive leadership team during a period of rapid growth for the company,” said Lukow. “Divert has emerged at the forefront of preventing wasted food and has proven its commitment to building the infrastructure needed to have meaningful impact. It is a privilege to be able to support this mission and lead the finance organization as the company scales.”

Lukow’s previous experience includes serving as CFO at Footprint, a sustainable technology company, and as interim co-CEO and CFO at Sprouts Farmers Market. At Sprouts, he led the financial, accounting, investor relations, and treasury functions. Lukow also held the role of CFO at Shoppers Drug Mart, overseeing finance, strategy, business development, real estate, and IT, and played a key role in the company’s successful IPO.

Lukow is a chartered professional accountant (Canada) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Business Administration from Western University.
