Deloitte India and Embark Partner to Deliver Comprehensive GCC Solutions

Deloitte India has joined forces with Embark, the Global Capability Centre platform launched by Embassy Group, to offer complete lifecycle solutions for Global Capability Centres in India. Announced on Wednesday, this strategic partnership aims to support global enterprises throughout every stage of establishing and operating GCCs in the country.

The alliance will deliver a single-window execution model that spans from strategy and setup to day-to-day operations and long-term governance. This integrated offering is designed to streamline and simplify the journey for companies looking to establish a presence in India through GCCs.

“We are delighted to partner with Deloitte India to offer a first-of-its-kind, integrated GCC solution in India. Our combined strengths will enable global companies to seamlessly enter and scale in the Indian market, using world-class infrastructure,” said Aravind Maiya, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Embark.

India currently hosts over 1,800 GCCs, and that number is expected to grow significantly, reaching between 2,400 and 5,000 by 2030. These centres have seen their economic contribution rise sharply from 19 billion dollars in 2015 to more than 68 billion dollars in 2024.

Traditionally considered cost-saving operations, GCCs are increasingly becoming strategic innovation hubs with expertise in artificial intelligence, engineering, research and development, and other emerging technologies. While large multinational corporations have historically dominated the GCC sector, there is a growing presence of mid-sized enterprises. In 2024, around 480 mid-market companies are operating GCCs in India, making up about 27 percent of the total. This reflects a wider adoption of the GCC model by global firms seeking to tap into India’s skilled talent pool and digital infrastructure, even outside of the major metropolitan areas.

“What we are seeing today is not just the growth of GCCs, but a fundamental shift in how global organisations view India as a strategic hub for innovation, beyond mere execution. Yet, many companies struggle to convert vision into reality due to a lack of a trusted advisor-led support system,” said Deepak Mowdhgalya, Partner at Deloitte India.

Through this collaboration, Deloitte and Embark aim to help global organisations navigate the full scope of setting up and running a GCC in India. The services offered will include assistance with location strategy, operating model design, legal and tax consulting, regulatory compliance, facility setup, and ongoing operational support. These offerings will extend across key business functions such as finance, procurement, human resources, payroll, and risk management.

As global demand increases for execution-focused platforms to facilitate market entry and growth in India, this alliance is expected to meet the needs of companies seeking reliable support. Deloitte brings its strategic advisory and transformation capabilities, while Embark contributes infrastructure and operational execution.

Embark was introduced in March this year by Embassy Group as India’s first fully integrated platform dedicated to enabling and accelerating the setup of Global Capability Centres.
