Delhi upgrades public services with AI-driven E-District 2.0 platform

In a move to modernise citizen services, Delhi is preparing to roll out E-District 2.0, an upgraded digital platform powered by artificial intelligence.

The new portal will feature a bilingual chatbot designed to simplify the process of applying for government services. It aims to provide quick responses to user queries, making access to services more efficient and user-friendly.

Currently, the e-district system offers 453 services, with more expected to be added. These include certificates and application-based services, which are set to become smoother and faster with the new upgrade.

E-District 2.0 will replace the existing portal launched in 2015, which has recorded 8.78 million registered users so far. The updated version introduces a more intuitive interface along with AI-driven features to improve processing speed.

There are also plans to explore blockchain integration to enhance data security and transparency. Despite the digital upgrade, services will continue to be available through more than 7,000 centres across Delhi, where users can access them at a cost of ₹30 per service.

The government is also considering expanding the range of services based on user feedback, aiming to make the platform more comprehensive over time.
