Delhi Police holds major cybercrime awareness session across more than 1,000 schools

Delhi Police organised a large virtual awareness session on cybercrime for school teachers and students on Friday under its Cyber Samvad 2.0 initiative. According to an official, the programme connected lakhs of students from more than 1,000 schools across the city. The session was conducted from 11.30 am to 1 pm at the Police Headquarters and was held in collaboration with the Directorate of Education GNCTD and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre I4C.

Around 250 students and teachers from NDMC schools attended the event in person, while the remaining participants joined online from their respective institutions. A street play on cyber safety by the Deep Group engaged the audience and highlighted common risks children face on the internet.

Delhi Police also conducted a detailed training session on the rise of cybercrimes targeting young users. The team explained concerns such as cyberbullying, stalking, grooming, digital arrest, cyber slavery and online job fraud. Students were advised to use two factor authentication, safeguard their digital identity and stay alert to unfamiliar or suspicious online behaviour.

The awareness drive aimed to help students recognise threats early and build safer digital habits as online risks continue to increase.
