New Delhi: The Delhi Police recently made their first arrest based on an e-zero FIR, in which a man was deceived into paying Rs 13 lakh under the guise of a job with Delhi Metro. This incident took place in northwest Delhi. The suspect has been identified as Bhupender, who lives in Sultanpuri. His accomplice remains at large.
The e-zero FIR system was recently introduced by the home ministry. Now, complaints regarding financial losses exceeding the threshold of Rs 10 lakh submitted to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and 1930 will automatically result in the registration of an e-zero FIR with the e-crime police station in Delhi.
This will be promptly forwarded to the relevant territorial cyber crime police stations. Complainants have the option to visit the cybercrime police station within three days to have the e-zero FIR converted into a standard FIR.
