With more than twenty years of experience across edtech, e-commerce, and gaming, Dhakad brings deep expertise in building digital products that deliver measurable business impact. His appointment reflects upGrad’s commitment to advancing product excellence, technological innovation, and global scalability as it continues to grow in the lifelong learning and workforce development sector.
Before joining upGrad, Dhakad was Vice President of Product, Design, and Analytics at Games24x7, where he led the product strategy for RummyCircle.com. During his tenure, he managed complex regulatory challenges, restored profitability, and boosted user engagement in a highly competitive market.
Earlier, as Senior Vice President of Product and Technology at Unacademy, Dhakad led the development of AI-powered recruitment and learning solutions that expanded the company’s revenue streams and diversified its offerings. His experience at Amazon involved leading major product initiatives in the App Store ecosystem, including the vernacular expansion for Amazon India, which helped the platform reach a wider audience across regional markets.
Dhakad has also held key leadership roles at Flipkart and GE, where he developed expertise in scaling digital ecosystems and aligning product strategy with business transformation goals.
His appointment comes at a significant time for upGrad, as the company continues to invest in innovation-led platforms, personalised learning technologies, and data-driven insights to reshape global education delivery.
