Deepak Sengupta brings over 33 years of experience in leading end-to-end digital transformation across the steel, mining, and manufacturing sectors. In his new role, he will lead the company’s technology strategy and innovation efforts to strengthen its digital ecosystem and improve operational excellence.
Before this appointment, Deepak served as Group Chief Information Officer at SHYAM METALICS AND ENERGY LIMITED. He also held the role of Divisional Head – ITS at Tata Steel and worked as General Manager IT at Vikram Solar. Across these roles, he played a key part in driving digital growth, modernising IT systems, and aligning technology with business goals.
Deepak’s career also includes senior leadership positions such as Deputy General Manager – IT and ERP at Century Plyboards (I) Limited and Head – IT and ERP at Tega Industries. In these roles, he led large-scale ERP implementations, IT modernisation programs, and enterprise-wide digital initiatives across multiple industrial organisations.
With deep expertise across complex industrial environments, Deepak’s appointment comes at a time when Balasore Alloys Limited is strengthening its focus on technology-led efficiency and innovation. His leadership is expected to support the company’s ongoing efforts to build robust digital capabilities and drive long-term operational performance.
