DAZN Opens India’s First Sports Tech Centre in Hyderabad

Global sports streaming platform DAZN has launched India’s first sports technology Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad. This new hub will be the company’s largest globally, with plans to employ 3000 professionals by 2026.

DAZN to Invest ₹500 Crore in India Operations

DAZN has committed to investing ₹500 crores over the next three years to grow its presence in India. The Hyderabad centre will focus on building advanced sports technology solutions, using artificial intelligence and real-time analytics. It will also partner with academic institutions in Telangana to drive research, training, and job creation.

Hyderabad Emerges as a GCC Powerhouse

At the launch event, Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu praised DAZN’s move, saying, “DAZN’s expansion is a testament to Telangana’s skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and proactive governance. Nearly one new GCC is being added every week in Hyderabad.”

He also spoke about the state’s continued investments in infrastructure, including projects like AI City, Sports City, electric vehicle mobility corridors, and the Regional Ring Road, aimed at supporting the growth of tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

DAZN’s Rapid Growth in India

DAZN began its journey in India in 2023 with the launch of a Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad. In just two years, the company has expanded to over 1500 professionals, including software engineers, developers, data scientists, and product managers.

Sandeep Tiku, DAZN’s Chief Technology Officer, said, “Hyderabad has been a perfect destination for DAZN to grow its technology and product operations, thanks to the state government’s progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and highly skilled talent pool.”

Driving Global Sports Tech Innovation from India

The Hyderabad centre will focus on innovating sports viewing experiences, developing AI-powered tools for broadcasting and analytics, and building global sports streaming solutions from India.

DAZN’s growing investment in India marks a shift in how international sports and media companies view the country—not just as a market but as a hub for innovation and talent. It also strengthens Hyderabad’s role as a leading destination for technology and media focused GCCs.
