Cyient Welcomes Kavita Kurup as Its New Chief People Officer

Wishing Ms. Kavita Kurup greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!

Cyient Limited, the global trailblazer in intelligent engineering solutions, has announced the appointment of Kavita Kurup as its new Chief People Officer. Stationed at the company’s Hyderabad headquarters, she now leads the charge in steering the organisation’s people vision, culture, and global talent strategy into the future.

With over 25 years of distinguished leadership in shaping business transformation, workforce agility and organisational strategy, Kavita’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Her path has spanned the worlds of technology, FMCG, BFSI, media, non-profit and start-ups — each chapter defined by her ability to turn people strategies into engines of innovation and value.

Kavita joins Cyient from UST, where she played a transformative role as Global Head of Human Resources and Corporate Communication. Her influence stretched across 30 countries, crafting a bold, human-first framework that strengthened culture, leadership, and inclusion. From talent strategy to leadership pipelines, DE&I to associate experience, her approach is deeply rooted in empathy and future-readiness.

“Cyient has a rich legacy of engineering excellence and a distinctive people culture that sets it apart,” shared Kurup. “I am excited to build on this strong foundation and help write our next chapter— a future where our people practices become powerful levers for innovation, agility, and transformation.”

Sukamal Banerjee, Executive Director and CEO of Cyient, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Her proven track record in architecting agile organisations, cultivating high-performance cultures, and aligning people strategy with business outcomes makes her the ideal leader to guide Cyient’s global workforce into the next phase of growth.”

A proud alumna of Harvard Business School, Kavita is also a certified executive coach, a board-certified independent director and a specialist in organisational development. Her philosophy blends purpose with performance, and innovation with inclusion — a style that has earned her widespread industry acclaim.

As Cyient continues evolving into a future-ready enterprise, Kurup’s leadership promises a people-first renaissance. “This is a moment of immense possibility,” she says. “Together, we will design human-centered systems and meaningful talent experiences that carry forward the Cyient spirit, unlock new potential, and prepare us for a world that’s constantly evolving.”
