Authorities in New York have taken down a massive cybercrime operation responsible for stealing and selling more than one million credit and debit cards. Prosecutors confirmed that tens of thousands of these stolen cards belonged to New Yorkers.
According to officials, the group ran a network of online platforms where stolen credit card details and personal identification information were sold. The marketplaces included SIKTOR, PP24, CVVUNION, VCLUB, and BLACK’S STASH.
“These domains seized by my office were used to host sophisticated, structured online marketplaces that exclusively trafficked in stolen information,” said a prosecutor while announcing the crackdown.
Investigators revealed that these were not just simple websites dumping stolen data. Instead, they were designed to function like full-scale e-commerce platforms, with search features allowing criminals to filter cards by bank, location, or even by the victim’s name.
A total of 12 websites were seized as part of the operation. Anyone attempting to visit them now will only see an official seizure notice instead of access to stolen information.
The investigation is still ongoing, but officials said the takedown marks a significant step in dismantling one of the most organised cybercrime networks targeting consumers in the United States.
