Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, Sandeep Mittal, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, stated that the Cyber Patrolling Team of the Cyber Crime Wing successfully intervened in multiple live scam cases, rescuing 428 individuals from falling victim to online investment frauds.
The timely intervention prevented an estimated cyber financial loss of approximately ₹1,000 crores. The Wing also blocked 1,277 social media pages and accounts that were being used to promote cyber financial scams under various disguises, he added.
Mittal made these remarks during the inauguration of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month celebrations, organised by the Cyber Crime Wing in collaboration with the National Forensic Science University.
He further highlighted that in 2025, the Cyber Crime Wing had recorded a total of 952 arrests related to cybercrime cases. In addition, 27 cyber offenders were detained under the Goondas Act to prevent repeat offences and maintain public safety.
The Cyber Crime Wing continues to strengthen its vigilance and preventive measures, focusing on raising awareness and protecting citizens from evolving cyber threats.
