CtrlS Data Centers, a data center operator, opened its data center park in Chennai’s Ambattur Industrial Estate on tuesday, solidifying India’s standing as the region’s top data hub.
According to the corporation, the project is expected to generate 500 direct employment and 9,000 indirect jobs with a direct investment of around Rs 4,000 crore and an indirect investment of about Rs 50,000 crore.
“The launch of our Chennai data centre Park signifies a crucial step in our goal to create a top-tier digital ecosystem that meets global standards,” CtrlS data centres chairman Sridhar Pinnapureddy said in a statement. “This cutting-edge facility demonstrates our dedication to safeguarding critical digital assets while accelerating the evolution of cloud-based services and data-driven innovation.”
This cutting-edge facility was presented by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in front of CtrlS’ Pinnapureddy and Palanivel Thiagarajan, the state’s Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services.
According to the corporation, the facility is expected to produce a substantial amount of GST money when it reaches full capacity, around Rs 200 crore directly and an extra Rs 3,000 crore indirectly annually. It further stated that an estimated Rs 800 crore in electricity earnings per year is anticipated to boost the state’s energy industry.
The Park has two data center buildings with a combined 72 MW IT load capacity and a Richter Scale earthquake resistance of 7.5. The building, which is 14 meters above sea level and has an extra 2.2 meters of campus elevation, is also flood-resistant.
“I am delighted to inaugurate CtrlS’ Chennai data centre Park, a cutting-edge facility that strengthens Tamil Nadu’s position as a global tech hub. Our strategic advantages and progressive policies attract industry leaders like CtrlS,” Stalin said in a statement.
Since its founding in 2007, CtrlS Data Centers has operated 15 data centers in eight important markets. With a total data center capacity of 250 MW (IT Load) throughout major tier-1 markets like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Noida, and Kolkata, the organization is well-represented throughout the country. Along with GIFT City (Ahmedabad), Bhubaneswar, and Guwahati, CtrlS Data Centers also has Edge data center facilities in tier-2 markets like Patna and Lucknow, with plans to expand further in these areas.
