Croma Appoints Shibashish Roy as CEO and MD

Croma, the renowned Tata Group-owned retail chain, has announced the appointment of Shibashish Roy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), starting April 1. Roy, who was designated as CEO in November 2024, has worked alongside the outgoing MD, Avijit Mitra, during a transition period that concluded in March 2025.

With over 20 years of experience within the Tata Group, Roy has played a pivotal role in expanding Croma’s market presence and refining its customer service strategies across various sales platforms. His leadership is expected to steer Croma toward new heights, especially as he emphasizes a digital-first approach and a deep commitment to enhancing customer engagement.

“Shibashish has been transitioning into the role of CEO & MD over the past five months, following the succession plan announced late last year… I am certain Shibashish’s digital-first approach and passion for customer engagement will drive Croma to great heights and look forward to working with him,” stated Naveen Tahilyani, Chairman of Infiniti Retail Ltd.

Infiniti Retail Ltd, the parent company operating Croma, focuses on consumer durables and electronics in India. Looking ahead, the company’s top priorities for FY26 include boosting market share in key regions and enhancing profitability.

Croma’s latest move under Roy’s leadership aligns with the company’s long-term vision of becoming an even more prominent player in the retail sector, with a renewed focus on digitalization and customer-centric strategies.
