Creativity is entering AI era and Adobe is at forefront of this revolution says CEO Shantanu

Creativity is moving into a new era driven by artificial intelligence. Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen said the company is leading this major shift which will change how people create content across many industries. He was speaking at Adobe MAX, the company’s annual creativity conference in Los Angeles.

Narayen said AI will no longer just carry out simple tasks. Instead, it will work with creators by asking questions, planning tasks and delivering personalised results while ensuring that people stay in control. He said, “Creativity is everywhere, fueling progress across industries, adding innovation, reshaping business models, practices, and most important, customer engagement. We are proud that Adobe has been at the forefront of this entire revolution.”

He shared how Adobe has influenced creative industries from the early stages of Photoshop to the newest advances showcased at the event. He said the next generation of tools will make creativity easier, more inclusive and more powerful. He added that AI can now understand natural language which will change how people interact with creative software.

“Creativity is entering a new era as AI enables creators to immerse themselves in their ideas seamlessly with the mechanics of execution,” he said. He explained that users will be able to describe what they want in simple ways, whether they are redesigning a scene or editing objects with a single command.

Narayen also spoke about Adobe’s approach to AI models. He said the company wants to give creators options instead of limiting them to one technology. He said, “Being able to describe what you want to do whether it is text to image, text to video, text to audio is a more intuitive and natural way to start the creative process.” He added that Adobe developed its own Firefly models to be commercially safe while also offering access to multiple other models such as Google Gemini, Imagen, OpenAI, Flux, Runway, Microsoft Mai and others.

Narayen said that Adobe will continue to focus on innovation that keeps creators at the centre of the process as AI becomes a bigger part of the creative world.
