CrashPlan expands Bengaluru GCC to drive global growth and AI innovation

CrashPlan, a global leader in data protection and cyber resilience, is strengthening its presence in India by expanding its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru. The move marks a major step in the company’s India growth strategy, following its 2024 acquisition of Bengaluru-based Parablu. The acquisition gave CrashPlan a strong operational base, removing the need to build capabilities from scratch and enabling the development of a full-fledged GCC to support global clients and core business functions.

The company currently generates close to USD 100 million in global revenue and aims for double-digit growth over the next two years, with India expected to play a key role. Since taking charge in April 2025, CEO Dan Beer has focused on driving expansion across India, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East, aiming to establish CrashPlan as a global leader in secure data management.

Following the Parablu acquisition, CrashPlan has doubled its headcount in India and now employs around 100 professionals. With its Bengaluru GCC set to become a key innovation hub, the company plans to double its workforce again as it enters its next phase of growth. The center will not only focus on engineering, sales, and support but will also lead major functions in AI innovation, product development, and research and development.

Dan Beer, CEO of CrashPlan, said, “We are focusing on India expansion and Bengaluru will be key to performing various important capability functions as we target a significant share of the Indian market. Bulk of our hiring will be in Bengaluru as we move towards becoming an AI-enabled data protection company.”

Beer also stated that CrashPlan is open to further acquisitions in India. “We are looking at companies that share close synergies with our business. Profitability will fuel our growth and allow us to reinvest in talent, infrastructure, and innovation.”

Anand Prahlad, CTO of CrashPlan and Founder of Parablu, shared that the company’s India vision goes beyond traditional support operations. “We are building a high-impact GCC focused on AI, innovation, and R&D, and Bengaluru gives us access to a highly skilled talent pool. So, it is on us to attract and retain that talent.”
