Commvault, a leading provider of cyber resilience and data protection solutions, has appointed Bill O’Connell as its new Chief Security Officer (CSO). O’Connell brings with him nearly two decades of expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and data privacy, having previously held key leadership roles at Roche and ADP.

O’Connell joins Commvault from Roche, where he led a variety of technical, operational, and strategic initiatives designed to protect vital data and infrastructure. Prior to Roche, he held several high-level security positions at ADP, where he oversaw global application, software, and product security across the organization.

O’Connell, an alumnus of the University of Maryland, holds a Bachelor’s degree, an MBA, and a graduate certificate in Cyber Security Policy. He has also contributed his expertise as the Chair of the National Cyber Security Alliance Board of Directors and remains actively involved in numerous industry working groups focused on threat intelligence and privacy.
With O’Connell’s leadership, Commvault is poised to further solidify its reputation as a leading innovator in cybersecurity, data protection, and resilience, navigating the complex challenges of the modern digital threat landscape.
