Cognizant has officially launched the TriZetto AI Gateway, a foundational solution designed to embed generative AI capabilities across its TriZetto suite. This marks a major advancement in the company’s effort to transform healthcare delivery, fast-track digital transformation, and enable organisations to operate efficiently in the AI-driven era.
The TriZetto AI Gateway tackles one of the most pressing challenges for enterprises today—how to securely and effectively integrate generative AI into complex software systems. With growing adoption of AI and automation, businesses must navigate concerns around data security, regulatory compliance, and operational flexibility. The AI Gateway addresses these by offering a central, secure access point for all TriZetto applications to interact with AI agents. These interactions are governed by client-defined rules, TriZetto openAccess services, and various enterprise data sources.
Built to support dozens of AI agents across the TriZetto product portfolio, with more under development, the Gateway is already making a tangible impact for Cognizant clients. It enables scalable AI integration with features such as enterprise-grade identity management, single sign-on, role-based access, telemetry, system monitoring, and cost visibility.
“TriZetto AI Gateway is not just a connector—it’s the foundation of our agentic AI strategy,” said Craig Mengert, Chief Executive of TriZetto. “It allows us to embed intelligence into every layer of TriZetto’s portfolio, from care management to claims and customer service, while giving clients configurable control over their AI infrastructure.”
Early users of the platform have reported significant time savings per care manager case, enabling more focus on patient care. Additionally, claims processors have seen improved training and onboarding speeds.
The TriZetto AI Gateway also supports the development of the TriZetto Assistant, an embedded tool that brings generative AI directly into TriZetto interfaces. This Assistant is designed to enhance human workflows by simplifying complex tasks and automating routine activities in areas such as claims, care management, and system configuration.
“With TriZetto AI Gateway and the TriZetto Assistant, we’re enabling a new class of intelligent operations—modular, secure, and deeply embedded in the healthcare ecosystem,” said Diana Sonbay-Benli, Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Cognizant. “It’s a leap forward in how we deliver value to our clients and their members and patients.”
The TriZetto AI Gateway will be available in the August 2025 release and will be licensed exclusively to existing TriZetto clients. This ensures consistent integration and governance across all deployments.
TriZetto is Cognizant’s core healthcare platform, used by payers and providers to manage care, claims, and member services for more than 200 million members and 875,000 providers. The platform helps healthcare teams reduce administrative workloads by automating tasks such as claims processing, prior authorisations, and benefits configuration, allowing more time to focus on delivering quality care.
