Cloudflare has announced its new ‘Intern-et’ programme, under which it will hire 1,111 interns in 2026 across its hubs in Austin, San Francisco, New York, Bengaluru, Lisbon and London. The initiative is inspired by its 1.1.1.1 public DNS resolver and is designed to give students the chance to work on real projects that impact millions of internet users. Roles will be offered in Engineering, Product Management, Research, Marketing and Business, providing practical experience across diverse functions.
Alongside this, Cloudflare is extending further support to students and startups. University students in the United States with a valid .edu email will receive one year of free access to Cloudflare Workers, the company’s serverless application platform. Additionally, selected startups will be able to co-work from Cloudflare offices and collaborate with peers and teams. In the past year alone, Cloudflare’s startup programme has provided 370 million dollars in credits to over 4,000 startups, helping them collectively raise more than 5 billion dollars in funding.
Matthew Prince, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cloudflare, highlighted the company’s long-term commitment to nurturing young talent. He said, “We founded Cloudflare during a financial crisis and doubled our intern numbers during the pandemic when other companies were cutting back. Now, when getting a job out of school has never been harder, we’re leaning in and offering a training ground for the next generation.”
The launch comes at a time when studies show employment among young workers in roles most affected by AI has declined by up to 13 percent. In addition, postings for tech internships have dropped by nearly 30 percent since 2023, making Cloudflare’s initiative a timely opportunity for aspiring technology leaders.
