US-based cloud software giant Workday is set to establish a significant global capability center (GCC) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, marking a substantial investment in the region and promising to create up to 3,000 employment opportunities. The announcement was made on Monday by Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister TRB Rajaa through a social media post.

With an investment of approximately ₹220 crores, this new facility will serve as a strategic hub for Workday’s product and technology development, playing a crucial role in supporting the company’s global operations. The focus of the Chennai GCC will be on cutting-edge next-generation Artificial Intelligence technologies, indicating Workday’s commitment to innovation and leveraging India’s talent pool in this critical domain.

Workday is a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, renowned for its comprehensive suite of HR software solutions. Their offerings are designed to manage critical enterprise functions, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), human capital management (HCM), and financial management applications.
