Citi Unveils AI-Powered Tools to Transform Employee Workflows in Hong Kong

Citigroup has taken a bold step into the future by launching a new suite of artificial intelligence solutions called Citi AI, now available to its workforce in Hong Kong. This powerful digital toolkit is designed to uplift internal operations, simplify processes and refine the way employees engage with information.

From extracting key details from the vast policy archive to drafting professional electronic messages and summarising complex documents, Citi AI is engineered to bring ease, speed and precision to daily work. These tools are crafted to enhance productivity while supporting thoughtful decision-making.

“This aligns with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s vision of advancing responsible AI adoption across the banking sector,” noted Aveline San, the Chief Executive Officer for Citi in Hong Kong and Macau and Head of Banking.

Currently, Citi AI has already been deployed to approximately 150,000 team members across eleven nations, including India, Singapore and the United States. The bank has plans to expand the access to these tools in even more markets before the year draws to a close.

This leap in technology arrives amidst broader changes. Just a week ago, insiders revealed that Citi is phasing out around 200 information technology contractor roles in China. This shift comes as part of a broader move to strengthen global teams with in-house talent, focusing on better risk oversight and refined data management.

Citi’s foray into artificial intelligence reflects a graceful blend of innovation and responsibility, a rhythm that seeks to elevate human potential through digital intelligence.
