Moelis & Company, a global leader in independent investment banking, has named Christopher Callesano as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective March 31, 2025. Chris will take over from Joseph Simon, who will be leaving the firm after an impressive 15-year tenure. Joe will collaborate with Chris and the executive team for a smooth transition before moving on to become the CFO at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Chris, who has been with Moelis since 2010, currently holds the role of Managing Director, Principal Accounting Officer, and Corporate Controller. With over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting, Chris has worked closely with Joe for almost 15 years, playing a crucial role in strengthening Moelis’s finance infrastructure to support the firm’s growth. He will continue to be based at Moelis’s New York headquarters.

Before his time at Moelis, Chris was Senior Managing Director of Financial Reporting and Policy at NASDAQ OMX. He also held the position of Director of Corporate Reporting at Merrill Lynch and began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University and an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
