OpenAI has made it easier for ChatGPT users to switch to voice mode directly within the chat, removing the need to activate a separate mode. Earlier, users had to go to the ‘Voice Mode’ option under Settings and select ‘Separate mode,’ which opened a different screen with mute and record options.
The older separate mode will still be available for those who prefer it.
With the new update, the AI chatbot can respond with images while you chat. Users can also view map results and access a transcript of their conversation directly within the chat. When users want to return to typing, they can simply tap “end” to exit voice mode and continue with text.
The feature is now rolling out on both mobile and web versions. OpenAI has advised users to update their ChatGPT app to access the new functionality.
