Cashfree Payments Elevates Piyush Anchliya as Chief Financial Officer

In a strategic shift at the financial helm, Cashfree Payments has welcomed Piyush Anchliya as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Vikas Guru. This move comes at a crucial moment as the fintech firm gears up for its next growth leap. Piyush will spearhead the company’s financial direction, streamline operations, and align capital with innovation-driven ambitions, directly reporting to Akash Sinha, CEO and Co-founder of Cashfree Payments.

An accomplished finance veteran, Piyush brings more than 15 years of diversified experience across global markets, having held senior leadership roles in investment banking, M&A, corporate finance, and strategic planning. His professional journey includes impactful tenures at Barclays, IDFC/ Bandhan Group, and most recently, as CFO at Bandhan AMC (formerly IDFC Asset Management Company).

Academically, he is a distinguished alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad, and his multi-disciplinary vision adds a strategic edge to Cashfree’s evolving fintech ecosystem. With a strong grasp of both public and private financial landscapes, Piyush is poised to contribute to the firm’s long-term stability and innovation-led growth.

Cashfree Payments is currently operating at the forefront of India’s fintech surge, serving over 800,000 businesses and processing $80 billion annually. The firm has recently fortified its regulatory credentials by acquiring three key RBI licenses—PA-PG, PA-CB, and PPI—positioning itself as a compliant and reliable digital payment partner. Its cutting-edge identity verification tool, Secure ID, further signals its commitment to innovation and security in the financial space.

Commenting on the appointment, Akash Sinha shared, “As we enter the next phase of growth, Piyush’s valuable experience across financial services industry— will be key to scaling sustainably and strengthening our financial foundation. We are excited to have him on board as we continue building the trusted financial backbone for businesses of all sizes.”

Piyush expressed his excitement, saying, “This is an exciting time to join Cashfree Payments as it continues to drive innovation in India’s fintech space. I am looking forward to advancing our strategic priorities, creating value for our stakeholders, and contributing to our mission of delivering the best in payments to businesses across the ecosystem.”

This leadership enhancement follows Cashfree’s recent $53 million funding round led by KRAFTON and Apis Growth Fund II, further energizing its expansion roadmap.
