Canva AI Expands to 16 Languages, Bringing AI Tools to Global Users

Canva AI, the visual communications platform’s suite of artificial intelligence features, has expanded its language support to 16 new languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, and Spanish. The update allows users to access Canva AI tools in their native language and write prompts in those languages, delivering output directly in the same language. Previously, Canva AI supported only English.

The company announced that its conversational AI assistant, introduced in April 2025, now supports Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Beyond language support, Canva AI is now proficient in 31 locales, enabling it to understand local conventions and cultural nuances. This allows the AI to generate contextually accurate outputs. For example, a user in Tokyo requesting a professional presentation will see Canva AI reflect Japanese design sensibilities, while a user in Mumbai creating a festive poster will get culturally relevant visual elements.

Since its launch, Canva AI has been used over 20 billion times, making it one of the fastest-growing offerings on the platform. Canva also reported annualised revenue of $3.3 billion (approximately Rs. 29,300 crore) and a global user base of 240 million.

Canva AI offers a wide range of capabilities, including generating designs and images, drafting documents, writing front-end focused code, and creating video clips powered by Google’s Veo 3 AI model. The tools can also remove or expand backgrounds, erase or reposition elements, and make localised edits. Canva AI is a premium feature available across all subscriptions on the platform.
