BSNL Unveils AI System for Automated Network Issue Resolution, Eyes 5G Launch in September

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s state-owned telecommunications company, has announced the development of an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system designed to automatically detect and resolve network issues. This strategic move aims to significantly enhance service quality and customer satisfaction across its vast network.

To support the implementation and address immediate concerns, BSNL has deployed specialized “crack teams” in each telecom circle. These teams are tasked with proactively addressing quality issues and resolving customer grievances, working in conjunction with the new AI system to ensure a more robust and responsive network.

While acknowledging that the adoption of indigenous technology is requiring some time to stabilize, leading to certain voice quality issues, BSNL remains confident in its ability to deliver high-quality network performance.

The company asserts that its 4G speeds are already superior to those of its competitors and that continuous efforts are underway to fine-tune the network for enhanced customer security.

BSNL reports a growing subscriber base, with 90,000 4G connections currently, and anticipates surpassing the one lakh (100,000) mark by July. Looking ahead, the telecom provider is actively exploring innovative technological breakthroughs, including solutions for quality services that do not require traditional tower installations and even services that can operate without physical SIM cards.

In a significant development for its next-generation services, BSNL has indicated that 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) will be a key focus in the coming months. Furthermore, the company has concrete plans for the maiden launch of its 5G mobile services, with Delhi slated to be the first city to experience BSNL’s 5G network in September.

This expansion into 5G marks a critical step in BSNL’s efforts to modernize its infrastructure and offer cutting-edge telecommunication services to its customers across India.
